Miller, Andrea

BACK

Setter Andrea Miller had a breakout junior season in 2017, emerging into one of the top players in the country at her position up front. By season’s end, she would bring home first team All-Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC), first team All-Great Lakes Region, and honorable AVCA All-American honors. She would then repeat those same exact honors as a senior in 2018, becoming the school's all-time assists leader in the process.

A four-year starter, Miller handled the reins of the Cardinal offense from start to finish and served as a main ingredient for the most successful volleyball team in school history. Otterbein achieved its best start to a single season during the fall of 2017, winning 13-straight matches out of the gate and ultimately finishing with a 30-4 record. They were the first team to amass 30 victories and their .882 winning percentage is an all-time best.

The Cardinals captured the program’s first OAC regular-season title and top seed in the league’s postseason tournament, and then swept through the bracket without dropping a set to claim their second-ever OAC Tournament crown. As a result, Otterbein was chosen as an NCAA Regional host for the first time in school history. Otterbein set a new single-game attendance record during the NCAA first-round win over Cabrini, playing in front of 1,117 fans and taking another memorable step towards success on a national scale.

Miller was amongst the national leaders in assists for the entire year, eventually finishing third at 11.18 per set. She totaled a whopping 1,353 from start to finish, surpassing 3,000 for her career and coming up 57 shy of the Otterbein single-season record. Miller also came in second on the team in digs (337) and third in service aces (33).

She was even more impressive as a senior when the Cards went 21-9 overall, clinched another share of the OAC regular-season title and Miller becoming a 4x All-OAC recipient. Andrea broke the Otterbein all-time record for career assists during a two-day event at Ohio Wesleyan and eventually ended her time with 4,179 helpers... almost 800 more than second place. She averaged 11.06 per set that fall to rank top-10 nationally once again, while also ranking second on the team in digs (292) and fourth in service aces (24).

Miller had a career-high 67 helpers in a five-set showdown at Denison in 2017 and then 65 at Heidelberg in 2018. She also delivered 38 career double-doubles as a result of her all-around play.
