Harkenrider, Billy
Billy Harkenrider joined the list of Capital One Academic All-Americans for the Otterbein baseball program after his junior season in 2014, earning second team distinction through voting by CoSIDA. A 5'10" left fielder, he was one of just 34 players across the country to receive the honor that year.
Harkenrider posted a .374 batting average over 25 games played, good enough to rank 13th in the Ohio Athletic Conference, while also driving in 20 runs and scoring another 19 himself. He roped seven doubles, held a .427 on-base percentage and was successful on all six stolen-base attempts.
An economics major with a near-perfect 3.99 grade-point average, Harkenrider also stayed involved off the diamond. He served as a student representative for the Business, Accounting and Economics departments, along with a student senator role for the Otterbein Governance Body. In addition, Harkenrider spent time volunteering with The Alternative Center in Sunbury, Ohio and was a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) on campus.
