Dean, Cari
Infielder Cari Dean enjoyed a memorable four-year stretch for the Otterbein softball program from 2000-03, appearing in a school-record 152 games and stringing together a .417 career batting average, the second-highest in program history.
Dean still ranks amongst Otterbein’s top-10 in almost every career category, remaining the all-time leader with 105 RBI, second for doubles (32), third in hits (186) and fourth with 446 at-bats, 241 total bases and 94 runs scored. She also ranks fifth in slugging percentage (.540).
She finished her days in Westerville as a three-time All-Ohio Athletic Conference selection, attracting first-team honors in 2001 and then second-team in both 2002 and 2003. Also a model of consistency in the classroom, Dean became the first Academic All-America selection in program history with a third-team nod following her junior year in 2002.
