Foltz, Katy
Mid-distance runner Katy Foltz took the next step in her college career as a sophomore, starting with indoor season as a member of the standout distance-medley relay team.
Foltz occupied the 800-meter leg during victory at the Ohio Athletic Conference Championships, and then teamed with classmates Heather Sandvik, Sarah Bedell and Claire Lamb to set a new school record (11:51.37) at Tufts Final Qualifying.
The squad later took fifth place at the NCAA Indoor Championships in both 2017 and 2018, deserving of a podium spot and All-American distinction. Foltz was also the Division III All-Ohio indoor champion in the 800 and then earned All-OAC honors with a runner-up finish.
She continued the success as a senior, again running on a DMR that took fourth place nationally for a third All-American award. Foltz capped her time at Otterbein by qualifying for the NCAA Outdoor Championships in the 1,500 meters. She was also a member of four-straight OAC championship teams in the fall for cross country.
