Blatt, Tory
A true pioneer for the Otterbein women’s lacrosse program, Victoria “Tory” Blatt surely left her mark after a decorated career from 2011-15. Part of the first four-year class, Blatt (Hilliard/Darby) ultimately departed as the program’s all-time leading scorer with 221 points (184 goals and 37 assists).
She played in 63 career games as a Cardinal, guiding the team to a 29-18 record over the final three seasons and becoming a first-team All-Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) pick as a junior and senior. Blatt finished fourth in the league with 49 goals as a junior and had career totals of 161 draw controls and 123 ground balls.
As good as she was on the field, Blatt left an even larger mark with her success as a student. A three-time Academic All-OAC honoree, she garnered her first piece of national recognition with a third team Academic All-America selection at the end of her sophomore campaign. A nursing major with a 3.85 cumulative grade-point average, Blatt repeated the feat in 2015 to become just the 10th athlete in school history to receive multiple Academic All-America awards.
She was also Academic All-District as a junior and made sure to stay involved in the community, volunteering with Habitat for Humanity, Toys for Tots, Relay for Life, Doctors Hospital, Red Cross, Friends of Jaclyn and the Otterbein Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. Blatt was also chosen as Otterbein’s female recipient for the OAC Clyde Lamb Award, presented annually to the top male and female senior student-athletes at each of the 10 schools.
Shortly after graduation, Blatt obtained a nursing fellowship within the Critical Care Unit at nearby Grant Medical Center.
