Kellogg, Ian
Ian Kellogg made his first indoor track and field national appearance in the winter of 2019 as a senior with the distance-medley relay team. He teamed with Trevor Dilley, Nathan Forney and Jacob Thompson to ultimately finish eighth at the NCAA Indoor Championships in Boston, Mass.
Kellogg ran the 1,600-meter anchor leg for the group, which used various lineups throughout the year and secured comfortable victories to claim All-Ohio and OAC titles. Kellogg was part of four-straight All-Ohio victories in the event and also won the 3,000 meters.
He did not run with the DMR over the next couple weeks, instead contributing All-OAC indoor finishes in the 3K and mile. Kellogg then took runner-up in the 3,000 at Tufts Final Qualifying when the DMR group posted a school record to punch their ticket to Boston.
Kellogg swapped places with Chase Hampton and reassumed his anchor leg for the NCAA’s where the squad combined to run 10:05 to grab the last All-American podium spot. Their time was less than a second out of sixth place in a highly-competitive field.
Kellogg finished off his senior year with an OAC title in the 3K steeplechase at Memorial Stadium on campus. He had three solo victories that spring and also grabbed All-Ohio honors in the steeple.
