A 1950 graduate, Gene Clark did a little bit of everything for the Cardinals by lettering in football, basketball and track and field. Clark initially played football at Ohio State but soon arrived to Otterbein, where he lined up as an athletic defensive end for the 1946 OAC Champion and Hall of Fame football team.
Those Cardinals went 7-1 overall, with their only losing being a 13-7 defeat to West Virginia in the opener. Clark also excelled in basketball and track before going into a coaching/teaching career at Linden McKinley High School. He also found a career in sales, working his way up to become vice president of his company.
