Moriarty, Erin
Erin Moriarty helped Otterbein women’s tennis capture three Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Championships during her four years. A four-year letterwinner and two-year captain, Erin was voted first-team All-OAC every season and earned academic all-conference three times.
The Cardinals won OAC regular-season titles in during her junior (2003) and senior (2004) seasons, while also capturing OAC Tournament championships in 2001 and 2004. Erin teamed with doubles partner Kelly Shields to win the 2001 OAC doubles championship, and followed with a runner-up finish at No. 2 singles action that season. Moriarty was able to secure an OAC individual championship as a junior, claiming victory in the OAC Tournament final against Ohio Northern at No. 2 singles.
Known as a perfectionist on and off the court, Erin was rock solid in the classroom as well by maintaining a near perfect grade-point average while majoring in math and education. Her efforts would be rewarded in the spring of 2003 when she was voted a CoSIDA Academic All-American. Moriarty is now married to former Otterbein men’s tennis player Marc Thomas. The duo has since had three children, two boys and a girl.
