May, Markita

Markita May was truly an outstanding student athlete who not only had tremendous success in track & field, but went on to medical school and continues to have a great career in medicine. She was a versatile athlete, earning All-Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) honors in a number of events. She holds spots on the Otterbein top-10 lists in the long jump, triple jump, 100-meter hurdles and 4 x 100m relay. Markita is tied for the school record in the hurdle event, and in 2003, she helped lead the women to the team titles at both indoor and outdoor OAC meets. The individual highlight for Markita was finishing seventh at the NCAA Indoor Championships in 2003 to earn All-American recognition in the 55-meter hurdles.
