Troyer, Amanda
Amanda Troyer delivered a breakout junior campaign in the fall of 2023, becoming a star defensive specialist in the back row for an Otterbein team that furthered its team/program success.
The blossoming DS, beginning her first full season in the “shirt” after finishing the 2022 slate with a bang, would become the first Cardinal in more than a decade to land Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Libero of the Year honors.
Troyer was also named first team All-OAC, first team All-Great Lakes Region, and honorable mention AVCA All-America by the time the season came to a rest. She was the only libero from Region 7 to make the national list.
Her season efforts included ranking eighth nationally in total digs (640) and 26th in digs per set (5.57) after playing in every match, spearheading Otterbein to a 23-9 overall record and perfect 9-0 OAC regular season. She also led the conference and ranked Top-50 nationally in serving with 59 total aces and 0.51 per frame.
The Cardinals successfully repeated as OAC Tournament champions and made a third-straight appearance in the NCAA’s. Troyer had a career-high 39 digs in a road win at eventual NCAC champ Wittenberg, 34 in the OAC Championship against Mount Union, and committed just 12 reception errors after October began.
