A native of Columbus, Ohio, Don joined the struggling Otterbein basketball program in 1963. When he graduated with a business finance degree in 1967, the team had a strong foundation that has lasted decades and he held 45 of 52 personal Otterbein basketball records. A four-time All-American and four-time all-conference player, Don is the only player to be named All-Ohio Conference MVP three consecutive years, win the conference scoring title four consecutive years, and score 2000 points in a career. Upon graduation, he held 10 of 11 career Ohio Conference records and, today, his 2,543 total points ranks third in conference history. His professional and personal lives have seen similar successes as Don owns his own financial services firm, served as “O” Club president for a four-year period, and he and his wife, Mary Jo, have four children, and six grandchildren.
