A 1957 graduate of Otterbein College, Bill Freeman has maintained strong ties to the College throughout the years in many capacities. His involvement with the College after graduation began when he took on the position of team physician for the Otterbein sports program in 1962, and then head physician in 1968. Through these positions, he was able to provide consulting services to athletic trainers and form a relationship with St. Ann’s Hospital for the benefit of the Sports Medicine program. Outside of the training room, Bill has been a member of the “O” Club, receiving the Outstanding Service Award in 1985, the Otterbein College National Alumni Association, receiving the Distinguished Alumni Award in 1984, and many other organizations. Bill has made donations to the College for over 42 years, including a gift of $500,000 to create the Freeman Athletic Training and Rehabilitation Center, helping to advance the program in which he has given so much of his life.
