Mauck

Brandon Mauck had an impressive career on the baseball diamond as part of the most successful class in school history, but was also recognized for his outstanding performance in the classroom. The third baseman from Reynoldsburg was a key fixture for the 2008 class that made three NCAA Tournament appearances, captured three Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Tournament championships, and won more games (123) than any other class to come through Otterbein.

The Cardinals advanced to the NCAA Mideast Regional during his freshman and sophomore seasons, and fell one game shy of the regional championship his junior year. The team entered the spring ranked No. 1 in the nation that season. His senior campaign was a personal best, starting 40 games and hitting .329 with 24 RBI. His output was good enough for second-team All-OAC honors as the Cards went 26-15. Mauck sits fourth all-time at Otterbein with 162 games played, starting 145 along the way.

An accounting major, Brandon concluded his career with the most outstanding accolades by earning 2008 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America second team honors. He was also the 2008 Clyde Lamb Award recipient, presented annually to the top male and female student-athletes at each of the 10 OAC institutions
