Larry Cline

Larry was a four-sport letterman, who found his niche on the football field. As one of the best passing quarterbacks in school history, he held records for the most touchdown passes in a single game, in a season and in a career for many years. Larry was named 1st Team All OAC quarterback in 1959 and 1960. Also in 1960, he received the Augsburger-Ballenger Award, was named Honorable Mention AP All-American Football Team, and named on the NFL Commissioner, Pete Rozelle, ProFootball All-American Team.

In preparation for dental school at Ohio State University, Larry stayed at Otterbein after his senior season and graduated in 1962. During this time, he remained involved in Otterbein football as an Assistant Backfield Coach from 1961 to 1964.

He also played professional football for the NFL New England Patriots in 1961 and the Canadian League Saskatchewan Rough Riders in 1962. Larry maintained a private dental practice in Columbus from 1966 to 1998, and taught at OSU as an assistant professor from 1966 to 1978.
