Tim Collins

Tim Collins is one of just six players in Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) history to earn back-to-back medalist honors at the OAC Championships. Collins accomplished the feat in 1998 and 1998 as Otterbein notched a pair of comfortable victories as a team.

Collins shot a two-day total of 146 (75-71) at the ’98 conference event, good enough for a three-stroke win over Marietta’s Shawn Shuster. His victory in 1999 required a bit more work, however, as he and teammate Matt Smith both shot two-day scores of 150 before Collins outlasted his fellow comrade in a playoff.

Collins also went on to register a pair of All-American awards at the NCAA Championships, helping Otterbein finish second in 1998 and fourth in 1999. Tim turned in an impressive one-under par score over 72 holes in ‘98, good enough to tie for fourth individually. The second-place result by the team that spring remains the program’s best-ever finish at the national tournament.
