Mohler, Matt
Matt Mohler was a member of Otterbein’s first two Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) championship teams in men’s golf, coming in 1992 and 1993.
Prior to that, Mohler finished tied for ninth at the OAC Championships as a freshman, finishing just three strokes behind third place. He carried the good start into the ’92 season, posting a fourth-place individual finish at the league event to help the Cards secure the crown.
A true pioneer of the program, Mohler was also a member of the 1993 Hall of Fame team that laid the framework for future squads, becoming the first group in school history to qualify for the NCAA Championships. He ended that season tied for 45th individually at nationals as Otterbein came in eighth as a unit.
Mohler tallied a seventh-place OAC finish in 1994 as a senior, but saved his best stuff for last by finishing tied for 12th at the NCAA’s to earn All-American laurels. Otterbein finished fifth as a group that spring and would make the national event each of the next eight seasons.
