Sebert, Zach

Although he played just one season for the Cardinals, Grove City native Zach Sebert definitely left a footprint at Otterbein. Sebert, having only played two years of high school golf, helped the Cards secure a staggering seventh-straight Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) title at the 2006 championship event.

Sebert earned medalist honors that season as a freshman, rebounding from an opening-round 76 to post a second-day 69 and hold off Bobby Santerre (Baldwin Wallace) by one stroke. The 69 remains the second-best 18-hole score in OAC Championship history.

Otterbein went on to a sixth-place finish as a team at the NCAA Championships, with Sebert earning first-team All-American honors after coming in tied for 10th individually.

Teammates and coaches label Sebert as one of the longest hitters, nicest guys, and most gifted players to come through the men’s golf program. Sebert transferred to Ohio State prior to his sophomore season, where he became the team’s No. 1 player before going to compete on the Nationwide Tour after graduation
