Thorne, Kevin

Connecticut native Kevin Thorne helped the Otterbein men’s golf program play to consecutive fourth-place finishes at the NCAA Championships in 2000 and 2001. His best finish was during the 2000 run when he posted a three-day total of 225 (+12) to finish tied for 15th individually and garner All-American status.
A tall and lanky player, Thorne hit the ball very hard and developed into a well-rounded player throughout his career. He was also a two-time All-Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) performer, finishing eighth at the conference event in 2000 and tied for fifth with teammate Ryan Dorff in 2001. Thorne fought back from an opening-round 81 to post a second-day score of 73. All five Cardinals finished in the top-8 that season, with four of the five going on to All-American recognition.
